Brian Tanguay is a native Santa Barbaran. In 2004 he founded a blog, Shouts from the Balcony, which he has kept going ever since. During his time as a contributing writer for the Santa Barbara Independent, Brian wrote dozens of fiction and non-fiction reviews, and interviewed Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award-winning authors such as Zadie Smith, George Saunders, Jeffrey Stewart, and Matthew Desmond. Brian is a member of the National Book Critics Circle.
